Good morning, Temple.

A local shelter in Temple changed its homeless count method after officials found discrepancies in past counts— the new procedure aims to better identify those in need of help.

An additional $3.4M was provided by the Texas General Land Office Tuesday to fund a flood mitigation project that will develop predictive water models for the Leon River and Cowhouse Creek watersheds.

Led by Texas A&M AgriLife and the American Conservation Foundation, the project will use these models to help protect communities in Bell and Coryell counties — a response to severe flooding last spring.

Temple City Council is seeking federal grant funds to buy two mobile generators for water facilities—estimated to cost over $500,000—to help the city respond to emergencies.
