COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Today, the Patterson family received over $10,000 from Best Christmas Ever to help cover expenses after losing their Bosqueville home in a fire earlier this year. The donation has eased their burden + brought holiday cheer as they work to rebuild their lives.  KXXV
  • Family Promise of Bell County received its 20th donated home from Clayton Homes on Thursday morning, and over 50 locals gathered to witness the event — a notable boost for affordable housing in the community.  Killeen Daily Herald
  • Temple Belton Racket Association launched a Holiday Drive (officials confirmed) to supply essential tennis equipment for school district students this holiday season in Temple and Belton.  Temple Daily Telegram
  • Temple will host the December Dumpster Drop event in the Crestview District, using a large container (to collect waste) and a tire-disposal trailer to cut illegal dumping. The monthly program will run through the end of 2025.  Killeen Daily Herald

  • Temple Department of Libraries and Museums announced Dr. Jill Hoffman as the new manager of the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum, and she brings art and history expertise to lead its exhibits.  Temple Daily Telegram

  • Gas prices have dropped in Central Texas as drivers in Killeen (observing lower pump rates today) report a welcome change in fuel costs (a trend that benefits local commuters).  Killeen Daily Herald

  • Connally ISD announced Willie Carter as the Cadets' new head football coach, replacing Terri Gerik who now serves solely as Athletic Director.  KXXV
  • The 2025 high school football season ended with local teams making coaching changes for next season; Belton Tigers coach Brett Sniffin retired after six seasons, China Spring’s Tyler Beatty will not return as AD Josh Gregory takes charge, and Connally named former assistant Willie Carter as its new coach.  KXXV
