- ➤ Local firefighter Hunter Alexander was named the 2025 C. E. Brodie Akins Firefighter of the Year Award recipient on Dec. 10 — his recognition highlights outstanding service in Temple. Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ CASA of Bell & Coryell Counties was awarded a $25,000 grant from the E.R. Carpenter Foundation to support its work for abused and neglected foster children. The funding will help expand services for vulnerable kids in the area. Temple Daily Telegram
- ➤ A local barbecue restaurant will help host the Spirit of Giving Back Country Christmas event in Killeen on Dec. 20, offering festive activities and community support. Killeen Daily Herald
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Temple ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) students invite community members to explore their annual Christmas event today, where hands-on welding practice is available for elementary school students. Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ A Temple ISD administrator earned an educational leadership scholarship as fall semester ended, with the Finance Department also winning multiple honors this year (recognizing excellence in education). Temple Daily Telegram
FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ Josephine Farthing, a Harker Heights veteran with 41-years of service, lost $12,000 after a routing number error caused Chase to deposit her savings into an unintended account. Chase is working with her and the recipient to recover the funds. KCEN-TV
