COMMUNITY NEWS

  • 6 News launched a contest — viewers can submit holiday photos from Dec. 1 to Dec. 5 for a chance to win a family four-pack of tickets to Santa's Wonderland in College Station, with five winners chosen between Dec. 2 and Dec. 8 and tickets valid until Jan. 4. This contest will offer families an opportunity to enjoy the park's holiday attractions when it is open through Jan. 4.  KCEN-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • Comic creators drew fans at Bitbar (2511 Airport Road) on Sunday afternoon to enjoy comic books and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The event showed local interest in creative art.  Temple Daily Telegram

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Temple EDC President Adrian Cannady was selected to chair the Texas Economic Development Council to boost economic growth statewide—he will work with leaders to support Texas communities.  Temple Daily Telegram

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Temple ISD Superintendent Bobby Ott met with his senior leadership team last week to set a tentative timeline for two bond propositions approved by voters two weeks ago—security upgrades for next school year will be a top priority.  Temple Daily Telegram

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Temple will soon annex over 1,000 acres and spend $15.3 million for Rowan Digital Infrastructure to boost data centers and industrial operations—two residents have objected to the annexation.  Killeen Daily Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • Bell County 911 Communications Center is partnering with local medical officials to launch a new system that will let non-emergency patients get care faster — a plan that is expected to save thousands in medical expenses. The system remains in development and will help Bell County residents reduce wait times.  Temple Daily Telegram
