- ➤ Cafe Soleil (a new venture by Feed My Sheep) offers pay-what-you-can high-quality meals in Temple. The cafe is open Thursdays and Fridays from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and founder Jeff Stegall has already purchased a second building for future expansion. KXXV
- ➤ Sleep in Heavenly Peace is launching its Bell County chapter to help over 1,000 children who lack proper beds by building and delivering handmade beds to families in need—its friend-raising event will be held November 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cultural Activities Center in Temple. KCEN-TV

- ➤ Temple ISD Fine Arts got recognized by the Texas Educational Theatre Association for its theatre program—its third award this year. Temple Daily Telegram
- ➤ Burton High crowned Rhett Livingston and Melanie Wood as Homecoming King and Queen last Friday during halftime at the game against the Milano Eagles — both seniors marked the win as a key moment in the annual homecoming celebration. Killeen Daily Herald

- ➤ The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor opened its new Jane and Mac Hickerson Crusader Golf Club on Oct 17 at its campus along University Drive—this facility features a practice course with four greens, 22 tee boxes and a short-game area and was dedicated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony with remarks from UMHB President Randy O'Rear and an appearance by two-time Masters champion Ben Crenshaw.
