ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fire broke out at the 4-Hundred Apartments (400 Fryers Creek Drive) across from Temple College Tuesday night and forced residents to evacuate with some being displaced.  Temple Daily Telegram

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Temple library is hosting a free seminar on uncovering family trees (for those seeking personal connection) this week at its downtown location.  Killeen Daily Herald
  • At the Temple Independent School District Board meeting—where school principals greeted board members with warm hugs—the board honored these leaders and approved changes to courses and reimbursement plans. The decisions will support improvements in the schools.  Temple Daily Telegram

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Bell County officials have extended the burn ban for outdoor fires—aiming to reduce wildfire risks amid ongoing dry conditions.  Killeen Daily Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Temple will continue its monthly Dumpster Drop program downtown with a large container and a tire-disposal trailer to reduce illegal dumping. A different neighborhood will host the program each month to address trash problems.  Killeen Daily Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • Temple residents were alarmed when a boil water notice was issued after a positive E. coli test and some said they never received the alert. The notice was rescinded on October 16 and local officials now plan to improve direct communication—residents hope for email or text updates in the future.  KXXV
