- ➤ On Oct. 3, ICE arrested Killeen ISD employee Ofelia Negrete-Arriaga, 57, after a concerned person tipped authorities that she had falsified employment documents and misrepresented her immigration status for nearly 20 years—her next hearing is scheduled for Oct. 14 as investigations continue. - ➤ Area residents are invited to join the 2025 Texas Pollinator BioBlitz, a statewide event running from October 10-26 that asks Texans to step outside and share sightings of pollinators (such as bees, wasps, butterflies, moths, and beetles) (to celebrate nature and track local biodiversity).
