  • On Saturday, Killeen residents joined the fifth annual Domestic Violence Awareness Walk hosted by the Killeen Police Department’s Crime Victim Services Division—bringing together survivors, supporters and community partners in recognition of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.   • The 4th Annual Creative Arts Fest 2025 took place Saturday at Carl Levin Park Amphitheater in Harker Heights & hundreds of community members attended to enjoy live performances.  Killeen Daily Herald

ECONOMY NEWS

  • AAA reported that the average price of regular unleaded gas decreased slightly from last week — a small relief for drivers — in Central Texas.  Killeen Daily Herald

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Belton ISD celebrated its new Delta 18+ facility Thursday night—special needs young adults led a tour for parents, siblings and community members to see the space designed to promote independence. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Greg Abbott announced that $8.5 million in grants—allocated from the Fund for Veterans' Assistance—has been awarded to 35 veteran service organizations in Central Texas. The funding will help local groups expand services for veterans in the coming months.  Temple Daily Telegram
  • The Temple City Council held one of its briefest meetings and quickly approved a million-dollar software contract—an action taken to streamline city operations.  Temple Daily Telegram
