- ➤ Temple ISD renamed Lamar Competition Field to Brad Dusek Field on Tuesday—honoring the alumnus who played for Temple ISD, Texas A&M, and in the NFL and died in 2024 at age 73. KXXV
- ➤ Rebekah Koh, a junior at Harker Heights High School, joined 96 other musicians on a month-long tour in Asia with the National Youth Orchestra that began in July. The group played seven concerts in famous halls + Koh served as an interpreter in Korea while meeting renowned violinist Ray Chen. KCEN-TV

- ➤ Temple, Texas — Hannah Ochoa, a local mother, pushed for changes in building codes after her three-year-old son drowned on July 17 when he unlocked a low door to a family pool, and she has since started a petition to require higher door handles near water hazards. This move comes as she calls on lawmakers to improve safety and prevent similar tragedies. KCEN-TV
