- ➤ Temple is using hotel and motel tax dollars — covering a large share of the costs — for its Tanglefoot music and barbecue bash, which will be an annual event designed to attract visitors from far away. Temple Daily Telegram
- ➤ Yesterday, KISD students, staff, and community members held an annual Freedom Walk at Harker Heights High School to remember 9/11—honoring those who ran toward danger on that fateful day. Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ Temple Fire & Rescue held a memorial ceremony to mark the 24th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks—community members gathered to honor the victims during this solemn event. Temple Daily Telegram
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Belton ISD is hosting its first teacher art exhibit today at the Cultural Activities Center—located at 3011 N. 3rd St. in Temple—from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The exhibit will display the creative work of local educators. Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ Students and guests from Temple and Belton ISD joined a Freedom Walk at Sampson-Howard Elementary School on Thursday to remember the lives lost and first responders from the 9/11 terror attacks. The event honored those who bravely responded to the tragedy. Temple Daily Telegram
