- ➤ The Temple Police Department announced the passing of retired K9 Levi today—he served with Officer Bill Burch for eight years and was known for his drive and dedication to keeping our community safe. Officer Burch said his time with Levi was a highlight of his life. KXXV
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A crash downed a powerline in south Temple — a water main break prompted a boil water notice for some East Bell customers. Killeen Daily Herald
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Cody Villarreal, a fugitive wanted for a domestic violence shooting near Buckholts, was captured through a multi-agency operation led by the Milam County Sheriff's Office—authorities said community tips helped guide the effort—and he now faces charges for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon-family violence. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today Temple PD unveiled a new $1.4 million mobile command center—equipped with cameras, workstations, and its own power and internet—to aid in disaster response, crime scenes, and community events. The truck, which can be operational in 10 minutes, replaces a 1999 unit to help keep the city safe. KCEN-TV
- ➤ The Texas Senate passed Senate Bill 12 that gives parents more control over their children’s education, health, and moral training — Temple ISD is collecting consent forms from parents for campus-based health and counseling services. KXXV
