- ➤ Coffee and tea lovers in Temple will have access to all-natural and organic brews when HTEAO opens on Aug.20 at 211 N General Bruce Dr, offering freshly brewed coffee made using water & ice from a double reverse osmosis system. KCEN-TV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A man and a woman died from gunshot wounds at about 12:15 a.m. Sunday in what the Killeen Police Department (KPD) believes was a domestic-related homicide-suicide. Killeen Daily Herald

- ➤ The Central Texas State Fair will take place from Aug. 28—Aug. 31 at Cadence Bank Center in Belton. The event will feature carnival rides, live music, and the PBR Challenger Series. Killeen Daily Herald

- ➤ Two Temple retail stores saw heavy crowds on Sunday during the Texas tax-free weekend and local shoppers took advantage of the savings. The busy event helped boost local sales and showed the tax-free weekend was well received. Killeen Daily Herald
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Everhett Bartek, 13, an eighth grader at Rogers Middle School earned the Junior Mr. SPJST title after competing at the youth showcase — his friends call him Pickles. Other participants also displayed their talents during the event. Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ Temple High School Advanced Academics reached new heights during the 2024 to 2025 school year — the program celebrated its achievements at an awards ceremony held Thursday evening. Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ Everhett Bartek, a 13-year-old eighth grader at Rogers Middle School, earned the title of Junior Mr. SPJST after competing in a youth skills showcase. He joined other local students in a contest that celebrated their talents. Temple Daily Telegram
