- ➤ Local restaurants Wes's Burger Shack, Bill's Grill and Best Quality Meats will host a fundraiser breakfast tomorrow from 8 to 10 a.m.—the $6 breakfast plates will support the family of fallen Officer Aumua who drowned at Belton Lake on August 1. KCEN-TV
- ➤ Forty local military mothers-to-be gathered Thursday at the Courtyard by Mariott in Killeen for a baby shower hosted by HEB Operation Appreciation. Killeen Daily Herald
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Temple Police Department is looking for 18-year-old Bryan Gonzalez who was reported missing on August 7 after he was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants near Lakewood Elementary School on August 3 (call Temple PD at 254-298-5500 for information). KCEN-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Temple officials urged residents to save water as hot, dry conditions are forecast for the coming summer. They advised tightening taps and using water-saving practices—steps meant to ease pressure on the local supply. Temple Daily Telegram
- ➤ Bell County Commissioner Louie Minor announced Thursday he will run for reelection in Precinct 4 — the area covering west Bell County. He said he aims to continue serving the residents if reelected. Killeen Daily Herald
