ACCIDENTS NEWS

- ➤ Temple community mourns the loss of Temple PD officer Toalua Charlie Aumua who drowned in a boating accident near Morgan's Point last Friday—his funeral is scheduled for Friday at 10 a.m. at Vista Community Church. KXXV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Texas State Representative Brad Buckley filed House Bill 8 to replace the STAAR test with a smarter and more transparent system that gives families quick insight into student progress. They argue that the county’s population growth from 310,000 in 2011 to 405,000 today calls for more support since current spending of $620,596 or $1.53 per person lags behind neighboring norms — a situation that needs change.
