- ➤ Bell County Commissioner Louie Minor is pushing to change the shelter to a no-kill facility after over 400 animals were put down since January and local residents raised concerns during a public discussion—a budget meeting on Aug. 4 will review funding and new plans while community input is encouraged. - ➤ Bell County Comic Con—one of Central Texas' largest pop culture events—begins today in Belton as fans, cosplayers, and celebrities gather, with founder Johnny Huang saying the event is expected to draw about 40,000 attendees, including roughly 10,000 from outside Bell County. KCEN-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS
