ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The Salado Volunteer Fire Department rescued a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old who were swept away Friday evening in the Lampasas River near Salado — their swift water training ensured the rescue was successful.  Killeen Daily Herald

  • Temple unveiled revamped Synergy Park today in the southeast with cutting-edge upgrades—improved drainage and water systems that will support efficient industrial use.  Temple Daily Telegram

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • An anniversary ceremony at the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home—Temple's first state veterans home—honored residents and staff after 25 years of serving veterans and their families.  Temple Daily Telegram
  • At III Armored Corps Headquarters, officials held a ceremony to return Fort Cavazos to the historic name Fort Hood—honoring World War I hero Colonel Robert B. Hood. The redesignation, effective June 11th, was authorized by the Army under General Order 2025-14—marking a new chapter for this key military installation and its community.  KCEN-TV
