ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Temple Police responded at 9:36 a.m. Wednesday to a deadly crash on Interstate 35 at exit 305 northbound when a vehicle left the road, struck a concrete pillar, caught fire, and its sole occupant was pronounced dead on scene.  KXXV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Rockstep Capital, a Houston company led by Andy Weiner, is exploring plans to buy and redevelop Temple Mall, which has lost many major stores and now only has a few anchors like Dillard's and Cattleman's Western Wear. The company will work with local lenders and business leaders—though the city has not met with them yet—and hopes to finalize the deal by the fourth quarter to bring new jobs and revenue to our area.  KCEN-TV

CRIME NEWS

  • A Temple homeowner said his neighbor worsened months of harassment by throwing human feces on his vehicles at 3 a.m., and Temple Police filed a Class C complaint—officers said the actions do not meet the legal standards while the homeowner shared photo evidence and called police over 20 times.  KCEN-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The city of Temple confirmed a water outage at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 3000 block of W. Adams Avenue—impacting Midtown Apartments and Adams Bend.  Killeen Daily Herald
  • A local rehab center received a $330,000 grant from state funds to support veterans and families from several area counties—this funding will help expand care services for struggling veterans.  Killeen Daily Herald
