- ➤ Central Texans are collecting donations to help Kerrville flood victims after severe floods. In Temple, Bold Republic Brewing Company has set up a donation center with local partners to accept food and essential items—while in Holland, friends raised $170 at a lemonade stand and Belton’s fire department is accepting extras until 2 p.m. on July 10. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On July 5th, Temple Fire & Rescue fought a fire at a home on Eagle Landing Drive that left three residents without a home and led firefighters to work defensively because heavy damage made the roof unsafe while the cause remains under investigation. KCEN-TV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A volunteer at Bell County Animal Shelter alleges that mass unnecessary euthanizations are taking place and that a hostile work environment exists—she also points to conflicts of interest involving the sheriff's wife. Killeen Daily Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters from Robinson, Waxahachie, Groesbeck and Hewitt are deploying a Type 1 All Hazards Engine to Kerrville for flood recovery efforts at the request of TIFMAS — the engine will be manned by these teams while Robinson continues local operations and teams from Killeen and Temple also join the response.
