  • 7 Brew opened its new drive-thru coffee stand at 1918 S 31st St in Temple on Wednesday—its grand opening featured a ribbon-cutting and a $1,500 check donated to the Temple Education Foundation by co-founder William Chastain. The business will host a swag day on Saturday, May 31 where customers who buy a large drink receive a complimentary 7 Brew t-shirt.  KXXV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Fort Cavazos has put in place Stage 4 water restrictions through today, requiring a 30% cut in water use because of drought and high demand. Most outdoor water use is banned, including lawn watering & car washes, with only firefighting and animal care allowed.  KXXV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Temple residents are rallying behind veteran officer Darrin 'DJ' Lahr, who served nearly 40 years in the Marines and police before becoming a school resource officer and is now facing an aggressive battle with brain cancer — his family has started a fundraiser as he plans treatment at specialized centers. His determined fight reflects his long history of service and commitment to his community.  KCEN-TV
