Good morning, Temple.

7 Brew opened its new drive-thru coffee stand at 1918 S 31st St in Temple on Wednesday—its grand opening featured a ribbon-cutting and a $1,500 check donated to the Temple Education Foundation by co-founder William Chastain.

The business will host a swag day on Saturday, May 31 where customers who buy a large drink receive a complimentary 7 Brew t-shirt.

Fort Cavazos has put in place Stage 4 water restrictions through today, requiring a 30% cut in water use because of drought and high demand.

Most outdoor water use is banned, including lawn watering & car washes, with only firefighting and animal care allowed.

Temple residents are rallying behind veteran officer Darrin 'DJ' Lahr, who served nearly 40 years in the Marines and police before becoming a school resource officer and is now facing an aggressive battle with brain cancer — his family has started a fundraiser as he plans treatment at specialized centers. His determined fight reflects his long history of service and commitment to his community.
