- ➤ Traffic was diverted on East Adams Avenue after a car struck a utility pole on Thursday morning in Temple—Temple Police and Oncor responded to the scene. Killeen Daily Herald

- ➤ A man accused of manslaughter in the death of a KFD captain was released on bond and is set to make his initial court appearance after allegedly driving 103 mph (with bloodshot and glassy eyes and slurred speech) at the time of the incident. Killeen Daily Herald

- ➤ Gas prices in Central Texas are rising ahead of Memorial Day as the average price hits $2.80 per gallon and some areas near $3 — AAA says this increase comes from more travel and a switch to a pricier summer gasoline blend. KXXV
