- ➤ Temple police responded to a crash at the 22500 block of SE HK Dodgen Loop—investigators say a Marlin police vehicle was t-boned by another vehicle, rolled onto its side, and injured three people. KXXV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Authorities announced an arrest in connection to a fatal crash that claimed the life of a Killeen Fire Department captain, and investigations continue. Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ Temple Police are asking the public to help find 56-year-old Bret Oltjen who was last seen on May 14 driving a black 2021 Nissan Titan and may have been heading to Port Lavaca — anyone with information should call 254-298-5500. KCEN-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Texas Senate unveiled a substitute for HB2 that cuts $1 billion from the House's $9.1 billion public school funding plan, raising the basic allotment by only $55 per student while stressing teacher pay and special education funding. Temple ISD leaders say the plan may not support all school staff needs, and the Senate Education Committee will review the bill today—a Senate vote is expected by May 28. KCEN-TV
