ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Temple Fire and Rescue responded Monday afternoon to a house fire on Hickory Road at 3011 that badly hurt a resident and killed three dogs—officials said the fire's cause remains under investigation. KXXV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Temple police indicted Kevin Jaramillo Ramirez on a murder charge on May 8 for the fatal shooting of Paolo Tescari near Santa Fe Plaza on Nov. 7, 2024 — his bond is set at $1 million. KCEN-TV
- ➤ Kennith Hayes Mackie, 26, from Killeen was arrested for an early morning ATM theft at a Temple business on April 12—he faces charges for burglary and theft and is held at Parker County Jail awaiting extradition. KCEN-TV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ WM held the ribbon cutting at the Temple landfill for its new renewable natural gas facility on Thursday—local leaders and WM officials joined the event as a $50 million project marked a big step in sustainable energy. Temple Daily Telegram
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bell County approved on Monday, May 5 the purchase of an M-Vac DNA system—funded by a federal grant—to help solve cold and active cases. The system will be housed at the Sheriff’s Office and training is scheduled for June 10—11. KXXV
