EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On May 5, the Department of Education resumed collecting on defaulted federal student loans, targeting borrowers who have not made a payment for 270 days — a move that affects over 5 million borrowers nationwide. Temple College officials advise students to work with their loan servicers and use on-campus resources to avoid falling behind. KCEN-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A section of Village Way in Temple will close Monday, May 12 as the city begins drainage improvements — construction crews are working to complete the project in about three months with detours via Adams Avenue, Apache Drive and Airport Road. KCEN-TV
