- ➤ Emerson Black, a Salado High School senior and artist, received a special honor from U.S. Rep. John Carter—R-Round Rock that includes a trip to Washington, D.C. for his artwork, celebrating his creative talent. - ➤ Voters in the Central Texas College Board of Trustees election selected two challengers Saturday—bringing fresh faces onto the board. The new trustees will take their seats soon as the board plans its next steps. Killeen Daily Herald
