  • Temple High School construction students are building tiny houses to help those facing homelessness today near campus; the student-led project offers hands-on learning in building techniques + community service.  Temple Daily Telegram
  • The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor’s new science center facility has been delayed due to steel shortages caused by increased data center consumption, and school officials in Belton say this may push back future project timelines. The university is monitoring the situation as it works to secure materials for construction.  Killeen Daily Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bell County officials in Belton announced a program to retire worn American flags properly (addressing common confusion), allowing residents to dispose of damaged flags with respect. The service is available immediately at the local office.  Killeen Daily Herald

  • Michael Miller, a 43-year-old father in need of a kidney transplant, met donor Brandi Watkins from Lampasas on Monday, Apr. 27. Their meeting marks a hopeful step as he prepares for his upcoming transplant procedure.  Temple Daily Telegram
