  • Temple will host the 2nd Annual Central Texas Salsa & Hot Sauce Festival on Saturday, May 3 at Whistle Stop Park with free admission, featuring about 40 local vendors and a Chihuahua dress-up contest. Sponsored by Temple LULAC Council 4971 and Chef Flaco’s Gourmet Foods, the festival will raise funds for youth scholarships while showcasing award-winning salsa and hot sauce from across Texas — a spicy celebration that promises family fun.  KCEN-TV

  • Texas A&M AgriLife announced that it will expand its Food Science and Technology Extension program to reach more learners as Texas experiences rapid growth. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A major water pipeline project will temporarily cut off water for 265,000 residents in late May as crews connect a new 54-inch steel pipeline to replace a failing 48-inch line in Bell County — affecting Copperas Cove, Killeen and Harker Heights. Officials urge residents to conserve water to avoid stricter measures during the four-day shutdown.  KXXV
