  • Nine-year-old Mya and her friends, wearing colorful superhero costumes, led a food drive at Temple Grace Ministries ahead of Easter weekend—serving over 500 families with fresh produce, canned goods and special items for Easter meals.  KCEN-TV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Collin Street Bakery in Temple is preparing for a busy Easter weekend as it plans to keep prices low amid rising costs and possible tariffs. The family-owned bakery will use its own food factory—helping control costs and support American products for quality treats.  KXXV

CRIME NEWS

  • Belton police reported that one man died and two others were hospitalized after officers responded at 2:41 a.m. to calls about a car stopped near mile marker 297 on the eastbound lanes of I-14 in Belton.  KXXV
  • Killeen police are investigating a fatal shooting on Gray Street where a 47-year-old man was killed on Thursday night.  Killeen Daily Herald

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Texas House gave final approval to a bill that will boost public school funding and raise teacher pay last week, and the new law is expected to support local schools in the coming months.  Temple Daily Telegram

  • Temple resident and Air Force veteran Sgt. David Kolinek was chosen for Honor Flight Austin to fly from Austin to Washington, D.C. on April 25 so he can honor his military service.  Temple Daily Telegram
