- ➤ Temple High School theater arts students advanced to a regional contest after a local win and will perform onstage later this season (their contest success earned them the opportunity). Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ Temple ISD board approved multiple new hires and issued unlimited tax bonds and tax refunding bonds during a packed meeting as attendees filled the boardroom and hallway while board members recognized students and welcomed new hires. Temple Daily Telegram
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Temple Police Department held a car crash training class on Monday morning at Temple College (Workforce and Visual Arts Building parking lot). Seventeen police cadets from different agencies participated in car crash investigation simulators. Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ Bell County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office announced Tuesday (with the VFW) a new program to offer an official U.S. flag retirement box for local residents, helping them retire flags properly. Killeen Daily Herald
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Baylor basketball player Cameron Carr announced his entry into the NBA Draft via Instagram. He averaged 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists for the Bears last season — the draft is set for June 23-24 at Barclays in Brooklyn. KXXV
