Good morning, Temple.

Temple Police corralled a painted horse near Central Texas Christian School on Monday morning after receiving several calls before 7 a.m. Two officers and a bystander roped the animal near FM 93 and 31st St before Animal Control transported it by trailer to a shelter where officials said it was in good health (anyone with information is asked to call Temple Police at 254-298-5500).

Two young men were shot dead early Sunday morning near Miller Park on the north side of Temple—one victim was the son of a grieving mother.

The trial of former Belton High School student Caysen Allison—accused of stabbing Joe Ramirez in 2022—kicks off today at 9 a.m. in Bell County court as law enforcement plans to present video evidence and testify.

Temple officials are asking residents for input on a proposed I-35 expansion that will guide how motorists travel in Central Texas.

Comments will be accepted until Friday—an effort to shape future traffic patterns—and residents are encouraged to share their ideas.
