- ➤ La Riv Kitchen & Bar reopened nearly one year after the EF-2 tornado struck on May 22, 2024 (its damage forced a rebuild) while 3 West Alehouse & Grill is preparing to reopen after completing equipment upgrades. Chefs say both restaurants look forward to welcoming customers as they continue rebuilding (community support has been key). KCEN-TV
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Emergency crews recovered a body from Stillhouse Hollow Lake on April 7—Bell County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the drowning after a 911 call before 3:15 p.m. led a dive team to recover the victim at about 6:15 p.m. KXXV
- ➤ Belton police responded Tuesday afternoon to a fatal collision between a train and a pedestrian in northeast Belton—officials continue to investigate the incident. Temple Daily Telegram
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Texas DPS has issued Amber Alerts for two Central Texas teens after 14-year-old Natalia Herrera was last seen at 6624 Woodway Dr. in Woodway at 2:33 a.m. on April 4 and 15-year-old Aunastasia Herrera was last seen at 1414 HK Dodgen Loop in Temple at 12 a.m. on April 6; both teens, who had previously run away and are believed to be at high risk, are being actively sought and anyone with information is urged to call 911.
