  • Fort Graham Baptist Church is holding its first Easter service today after a fire destroyed its building earlier this week (local donors helped replace lost instruments and supplies). The church will also host an Easter dinner and egg hunt for kids.  KXXV

  • Harker Heights-based Shane Hodyniak was promoted to major during a Saturday ceremony (celebrating 20 years of military service) that marks an important milestone in his U.S. Armed Forces career.  Killeen Daily Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • The sold-out Central Texas Community Health Summit in Belton will bring local medical experts and business professionals together to build health literacy. The event addresses a nationwide need for improved health education.  Temple Daily Telegram
  • Vets at a local clinic advise pet owners to give their animals monthly heartworm preventatives during National Heartworm Awareness Month in April — a time to protect pets from a mosquito-borne disease that can harm dogs and cats.
