- ➤ Early Tuesday morning, a fire caused by improperly discarded smoking materials displaced residents at Summit Ridge Apartments when flames spread across four units, and fire officials with the apartment office and American Red Cross responded to offer temporary shelter. KCEN-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A Temple High School student made school history this week by qualifying for an international health leadership conference after a strong showing at a state competition. She will represent the school in the overseas event soon. Killeen Daily Herald

ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Nine Brazos River reservoirs are under a Stage 1 drought watch due to below-normal rainfall, though officials say there is no immediate threat as the water system is 89% full. Water providers and residents are asked to cut use by 5% as spring rain approaches (to help maintain supply). KCEN-TV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Temple-based CEFCO convenience stores raised $133,871.95 for the American Heart Association during their third annual Life Is Why campaign + showing strong local support for community health. Temple Daily Telegram
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Salado girls soccer team advanced to state semifinals after a 5-1 win over Vidor in Tuesday's regional final, and they will face San Antonio Davenport in a rematch of last year's state semifinal loss. KCEN-TV
