CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Temple police investigated an attempted ATM burglary on the 2900 block of South General Bruce Drive when multiple suspects tried to pull the machine from a building wall at 3:11 a.m. Monday and abandoned their car, with no injuries reported. KCEN-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Salado ISD seniors are playing Senior Assassin, a tradition where they use water guns to tag assigned targets and win a prize pool while making new friends before graduation. School administrators and law enforcement stressed safe play today by banning realistic toy weapons, and they confirmed that school property is a safe zone — a rule meant to keep the game fun and secure. - ➤ Representative Brad Buckley of District 54 talked about education reforms in the legislative session and said he will work to pass a bill to add nearly $9 billion to public schools and end the STAAR test.
