- ➤ Moffat Volunteer Fire Department will hold a push-in ceremony Tuesday after its monthly fundraising dinner to celebrate its new water tanker. The department invites community members to attend the event. Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ Collectors of all ages attended the Temple Card Show at Frank W. Mayborn Civic and Convention Center, 3303 N. Third St. on Saturday and Sunday where trading cards were abundant. Temple Daily Telegram
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A Temple educator is using a hydroponic plant tower to teach students about indoor gardening today. Catlain Melendez plucked a kale leaf in class while three students waited to taste the fresh produce (an initiative that supports lunch programs for Temple and Belton schools). Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ Temple resident Bobbi Waddle marks 15 years as a teacher at Central Texas College. She commutes 30 minutes each day (round trip) and remains dedicated to teaching her graphics and printing students. Temple Daily Telegram
- ➤ Kids explored aviation careers at the 'Lunch at the Airport' event on Saturday at Draughon-Miller Central Texas Regional Airport (77204 Airport Rd.). Killeen Daily Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Temple and local nonprofit Feed My Sheep have launched the Pathways to Stability program to support residents facing homelessness; the city invested $100,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds. Killeen Daily Herald
