COMMUNITY NEWS

  • You Are Still A Veteran (YASAV), a Central Texas nonprofit, is launching its Quarterly Veteran Claims Clinic Series to help local veterans with VA claims. The first clinic event is planned soon in Temple.  Temple Daily Telegram
  • A free community pop-up event is set for Sunday, Mar. 29 in Temple from noon to 8 as Zaza Burgers LLC and Weleba Clothing Co. team up to offer food, vendors, and live music. Neighbors can look forward to an engaging local gathering.  Temple Daily Telegram
  • The City of Temple is hosting a secure document shredding event while Rotary of Temple will build beds for children in need. Both projects aim to support local residents by offering safe document disposal and better sleep for kids.  Killeen Daily Herald
  • Temple completed a new train-themed playground at Fred Springer Park downtown near the Santa Fe Depot to give families a fun spot for play and exploration.  Killeen Daily Herald

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Academy High School students nearly swept a regional art competition after submitting 20 artworks (19 received awards) and three top scorers were selected to advance to the state art contest.  Temple Daily Telegram

SPORTS NEWS

  • Temple Wildcats baseball set a program record on Friday by defeating Killeen 41-1 in a five-inning game & scoring 24 runs in one inning, and they will face Killeen Chaparral on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in a non-district contest.  KCEN-TV
  • The Burton Panthers earned their second three-inning win over Snook on a road trip this week — clinching the sweep with a strong offensive display.  Killeen Daily Herald
