- ➤ Temple families can enjoy a new train-themed playground at Fred Springer Park, featuring a locomotive front, molded wheels, elevated decks, and a poured safety surface for children (two to five). The installation adds to the park's amenities near Santa Fe Plaza. KCEN-TV

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Mandi Bronstad has been named the new principal of South Bosque Elementary in Midway ISD. The district will host a meet and greet on Thursday, Apr. 16 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the school library to welcome Bronstad, who brings more than 25 years of education experience. KCEN-TV
- ➤ Two Temple High School theater arts students earned a state championship opportunity after spending several months refining their hair and makeup design skills. They will showcase their work on a big stage as they prepare to compete. Killeen Daily Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Oncor and LCRA filed an application for a 765kV transmission line to help move more electricity as demand grows. Public input was gathered and the Public Utility Commission will review the plan (final route decision expected in September) before the project moves ahead. KCEN-TV
