  • Fatal truck crashes on I-35 raised concerns in Texas after a 17-car pileup in North Austin left five dead and 11 injured and a separate crash near Waco claimed a Lorena mother's life—officials and industry experts urge stricter driver training and enforcement to prevent more tragedies.  KXXV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Temple dispensary owners are preparing for Senate Bill 3, which passed 24-7 last week and would ban all products with any THC if approved by the House—local business owners warn that the change could force shifts in business models and risk job losses while supporting tighter safety measures to keep products away from children.  KCEN-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Temple High School's JROTC Honor Guard won first place at the Fort Cavazos Skills Meet by scoring 188 out of 190 points against 25 teams — a historic win confirmed by Temple ISD. The team trained two hours after school three days a week since August and will compete again on April 5 at McNeil High School in Round Rock — officials say this achievement sets a high bar for the program.  KCEN-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • The family of Temple resident Amber Dawn Stirnkorb-Cripe launched a GoFundMe after her treatment options ended for terminal triple negative breast cancer. They hope donations will cover living expenses and final arrangements as nearly $7,000 has been raised from a $30,000 goal.  KCEN-TV
