- ➤ Temple mother Ann Belcher (a local resident) calls for more stop signs and speed limit signs on Westfield Boulevard after 16-year-old Adrian Banks died and his sister was injured in a crash on Tarver Drive last week; the city has yet to respond to calls for safer streets. KXXV

- ➤ Temple will host its Fifth Annual Black History Month Ceremony at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Frank W. Mayborn Civic and Convention Center (3303 N. Third). Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ West Salado Cemetery (a 1.8-acre site with headstones dating as far back as 1877) stands near I-35 as a quiet reminder of the early African American community in Salado. Deeded in 1879 by Col.
