- ➤ Temple earned the nickname Tanglefoot in the 1880s from muddy streets and lively saloons, and residents now honor that past with the annual Tanglefoot Festival featuring music, food, and community events. KCEN-TV

- ➤ At a Monday evening meeting, Temple ISD board of trustees approved an additional component of the 2025 bond project purchase + legal policy updates to guide future district planning. Temple Daily Telegram

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Seton Medical Center Harker Heights officials will break ground on the new South Campus facility in Belton to expand medical access in the community. Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ The former Margaritas building at 10280 W. Hwy. 29 is set for redevelopment as an Ally Medical Emergency Room and a small expansion. Work will begin May 1 and finish by Dec. 31 with a $4.5 million investment (the facility is run by local physicians certified by boards). Killeen Daily Herald

- ➤ Burton's Lady Panthers lost 38-13 to Mumford on Tuesday in a District 26-2A game & snapped an eight-game win streak as they struggled on offense. They will host Somerville at Burton High School gym at 6:15 p.m. Friday. Killeen Daily Herald
- ➤ Three Rivers Lady Bulldogs begin their 2026 softball season on Feb. 10 with championship expectations, relying on experienced starters + emerging talent from underclassmen.
